Suriname

Our precious sister Gloria from my home country of Suriname, whose ministry is called Weid Mijn Lammeren, which means Feed My Lambs, has started a new project called the Hadassah Project.

The Hadassah Project helps mothers in Suriname who have experienced abuse, neglect, and violence by providing housing and personal guidance through trauma processing and encouraging them to develop their unique talents and gifts.

The live-in mothers go through a two-year trajectory in which they are guided towards self-reliance through training and coaching. For the children in the Hadassah center, there are separate guidance by pastoral (child) workers. The Hadassah center contains twelve residential units, each fully furnished. The units have two to three bedrooms. There is also a spacious playground, sports field, computer room, homework support, and a library.
We also provide several work programs, including sewing, baking, and gardening.
